This text contains a program and a methodology of teaching and study. It includes a teachers’ edition and a students’ workbook edition. It’s a compilation of 24 ready-to-teach units, including tests and answer keys. Each unit is a two-week study, with complementary vocabulary, writing, and reading activities drawn from and explained in the appendices (primarily A, B, & D).
All materials are classroom proven. They’ve made major positive impacts on struggling readers, writers, and vocabulary-challenged students.
This text was written with several problematic situations in mind:
- Having multi-leveled students in a single classroom. This program was designed to accommodate all students on
- all levels at the same time. Thus, with this program, multi-leveled classrooms are no longer situations to be dreaded.
- Not having enough time to teach all essential basics in individual lesson formats. In this program, all of the lessons and activities are designed to teach several necessary and basic lessons at once. Reading, writing, vocabulary, and thinking are all taught in unison.
- Students entering substantially below grade level. Students, through this unique system of study, can and do grow several grade levels in a single year of study. Thus, this program aids tremendously in Bridging the Chasm.
